Receipt date and Visa date

Hi

 

I have paid visa appointment fees for CANADA consulate on September 19th 2013. (i Planned to go in October 2013 but couldn't make it till now)

 

My question is as the Receipt is valid for an year, 

 

Do i need to get an appointment date before September 19th or I can get a date after also but need to book it before sep 19th? To clarify, Can i book a date for october or november with this receipt before sep 19th?

 

Can somebody please give me correct info as i am hearing different things form my friends?
