Can I leave current employer with out I-140/GC process initiated?

Hi I worked at company A for 6 years and they sponsored GC and I have my I-140 active from them. Then I quit Company A and joined Company B, 10 months ago. It is not going well here and they haven't started my GC process yet. 

 

My understanding is that, to get H1B extension, I need I-140 approved. I quit Company B with out GC process started, would I have any problem in the future?

No problem... As long as your I-140 is not revoked(Even though in some cases) your are good for extensions

As long as your old 140 was not revoked for fraud reasons, you can get your visa extended, However, if you intent to get GC, you need to get your employer to start a new process. You can retain the old PD.

No employer is required to file for a GC and may have determined that it is fruitless since there are many people meeting the job requirements anxious for a job.
