mpraveenkr
Hi All, I've read the topics in this forum but still have couple of questions. I am the primary applicant and wife is dependent. I-485 is pending (more than 180 days) and both of us has approved EAD. My current client offered me a Full Time position (same job responsibilities but a different designation) and I've been working with this client since 4 years. My questions(my PD: April 2008): If I take up the full time position (change employer), does this affect my wife's status, in any way? Does my current employer has the right to revoke anything? Thanks in advance for any responses, Praveen Link to comment
pontevecchio
1. No 2. If he revokes the I-140 which is usually not the case you can still use AC21 towards the new job. That means being prepared to show an appropriate job letter from the new employer. 3. You should also keep a Lawyer in the mix as a matter of abundant caution. Link to comment
mpraveenkr
Thanks a lot for your answers. Just 2 last questions: * Does changing employer on EAD/AC21, create any issues in my future GC Extensions? * Can my wife work using current EAD? Thanks again, Praveen Mareddi Link to comment
pontevecchio
Can you reframe the first question in post #3? I do not understand. 2. As long as her EAD is current she can work for any employer in any field. Link to comment
mpraveenkr
So, before reframing the question? I have to ask one more question then: I am on H1 now and haven't started using EAD yet. So, if I had to change employer, do I have to use EAD or AC21? Not very familiar with the status details ;). Once I change the employer, will it create any issues renewing the GC in the future? Thanks a lot again, Praveen Mareddi Link to comment
pontevecchio
You can do either. PLEASE make sure you have a Lawyer to help you. Renewing GC makes no sense. What do you mean by renewing GC? Link to comment
mpraveenkr
I mean, the Green Card Extension. Thanks a lot for all your help, Praveen Mareddi Link to comment
