wrong passport# in I-129 Petition.

Hi,

 

In April 2013, I got opportunity to work in US and my new employer filed a I-129 for H1B and H1B petition got approved.  Two days back my employer sent all my documents, instructed me to go for stamping in MUMBAI(INDIA) Consulate, and i started reviewing all of them. i noticed that in I-129 document, they mentioned wrong passport number and immediately i contacted my employer. He is telling me to go for stamping immediately irrespective of type in I-129, because US Consulate people will check mainly DS-160. Also telling me that if i go for I-129 amendment, he is telling that it may take around 3 to 4 months which he can not wait.    Please suggest me the best possible solution.

 

 I tried to reach my employer attorney, initially she told me that we need to go for amendment but now she is following my employer suggestion only that is go with current document if any issues, then we can see.
