H1BJourney
Hello Gurus, I have master's degree and I'm also on 1st year of H1B (done with stamping too in Canada). My question: I believe immigration system may definitely change in coming 2 years. Can I wait for the reform (or) go ahead and start GC? FYI, I work for a consulting firm. so I need to takes care of GC things. Link to comment

catx
Do not wait for some possible immigration reform -- which (1) there is no way to know what it may or may not include / change / etc. and (2) may, or just as likely, may not even happen. You should plan your life, career, etc. based on the current immigration laws, regulations, and rules, e.g. start your permanent residency (green card process). The chances are that your situation would only improve if you are in 'line' versus waiting to see what, if anything, happens. Do not wait for some possible future event, which no one knows what it will be, if it ever happens. You could wait forever and then find out it does do anything for you. Link to comment
t75
Don't count on it and certainly not benefiting someone in your situation. Link to comment
