HMR Posted January 15, 2014 Report Share Posted January 15, 2014 Hi, I have a valid H1B till 08/2015 and also have EAD based on pending I-485 and I am with the same company that did my H1B and GC.My employer wants to maintain both. My spouse has H4 valid till 08/2015 and also EAD based on pending I-485. My spouse got a job offer and wanted to know if she can use EAD to work and still continue to maintain her valid H4 status or has to forego H4 status if she takes the Job using EAD. shalabhgandhi Posted April 22, 2014 Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 No, she cant. The moment she starts using her EAD, her H4 is abandoned. We have been through this 2 years back so I know. And if she travels outside US, she needs to use AP to come back. Link to comment
