ppm
I am on J2 dependent visa and have a current EAD which expires on 06/30/2011. I applied for an extension of EAD on 05/19/2011. The delay in my application was due to an unexpected delay in getting my husband's DS2019. On the USCIS website, it says the application is still in process. What are my options when my EAD expires? Can I continue to work? My employer says I can work after the EAD expiry but they want me to fill out a W9 form, which means that they would pay me my salary, but would not deduct any taxes, I would have to pay my taxes own my own for this period. The other option I am considering is to go on unpaid leave until I get my new EAD. I am also going to write to the Nebraska service center for an expedited service. Is it better to write or call? I am dreading the possibility of potentially being jobless in 3 days. Is there anything else I can do please? Any advice is much appreciated. Link to comment
