onpath
Hi, I was working on EAD and recently received Greencard. Do I need to submit a copy of the greencard to my employer or is there any issue with continuing to work on EAD? Thx for the info -Azi Link to comment

catx
You need to submit a copy of your permanent residency visa (green card) to your employer for their records. Also, I believe your EAD is no longer valid upon issue of an approved permanent residency visa (green card). (Similar to an OPT EAD becomes invalid if you go back to school regardless of the expiry date.) What is the reason for not wanting to submit a copy of your permanent residency visa (green card) to your employer and continue to work on your EAD? Link to comment
pontevecchio
Your EAD is dead. Please go to HR and show them the GC . Link to comment
JoeF
As part of the documentation for the I-9, a copy of the GC may be needed. If you have an SSN without any restrictions on it, that, and drivers license would be enough. See the instructions for the I-9. With the GC, you can get a new social security card without restrictions. If you continue to use the card with restrictions, you would have to show work authorization, i.e., the GC. Link to comment
onpath
I just read I-9 instructions and it just says the employer needs to have it on file but doesnt need to file it. My current employer does not sponsor immigration and the HR department is minimal. When I submit documents I may get questions like what should I do with it, hence I was checking. Thanks for all your help. Link to comment
pontevecchio
It is not your problem. Give them a copy of the GC. Link to comment
