DL on H1 Approval Notice

I am in US on B1 and have an H1B approval notice but not yet filed change of status to H1. Can I get a DL?

 

I also have a past SSN card that I had 10 yrs back when I was in US on H1B. Can I simply show that card and get DL or do I have to show my valid H1B visa in passport?

Your social security number (SSN) is still valid / the same.  (It is good for life, even when you leave the U.S. for many years.)  As for a driver license, it is state issued, and as such the identification and necessary proof of valid status requirements and documentation vary by state.
