GC is for future employment. That means you will be working for that employer in future, so it doesn't matter what's your current status is.

If your current employer is in India then obviously he can't file your GC bcos only US employer can file GC. So in your case, you are good to go.

  • I would like to know how US employer will support me when I am in India working for another company..

Just ask your GC sponsoring employer.

"support" in many cases implies financial support.  A GC sponsor has no financial obligations to someone not in his employ.

Does your employer hired an attorney?? If not tell him to hire one and he will take care of your GC process.

He should take advice from an attorney. The fact you are doing the research is a BIG flag that this employer leaves a lot to be desired and you need one that is better established and likely to be around for a while. A responsible employer would have already engaged an immigration attorney to advise him..

GC is for future employment. Your resume and the job documents are the justification after meeting PERM requirements.

There is no way you can get GC before OPT expires.   There will b e a lot of competition for PERM.
