JoeF
Children get SSNs. In fact, the hospital probably already took care of that. Link to comment
agundra
yes. we applied SSN via hospital. we got Birth certificate as well. my question is if it is to possible to apply passport with birth certificate [without SSN] ? SSN takes sometime..I just don't want to wait until it arrives to apply passport if possible. Link to comment
catx
A SSN and card should only take a couple weeks to get after submitting the application. Link to comment
agundra
FYI..it might help..actually for new born it is not required. I enquired and they put all 0's and passport came. however SSN is not yet recieved. what the officer told is for new born there won't be any security check...so SSN is not mandatory Link to comment
