newuser21
employer owns the i797. But you need it for visa stamping and they may ask it back upon stamping+travel completion. That's interesting. I always got all of my previous original all i797 approval notices with me. Now my employer is asking this copy back, and I don't want to return it since in my past I got to keep approval copies without asking. Link to comment
newuser21
There is 1. Petitioners copy 2. Your copy 3. Lawyers copy. They are all original. So, with the approval USCIS probably has sent three different original copies, and I can ask for my original copy? Link to comment
pontevecchio
In view of PIMS it makes no difference even if you have a copy of a copy. Even if you give him back the original it makes no difference. Why the mystery? Link to comment
Tjgarla
A copy of the i797 with the i94 in the bottom is good enough. Even the consulate officers and the port of entry officers are ok with just a copy Link to comment
