Parents visa : Mom is govt employee, NOC letter duration

I need some info. My father is retired employee and mother is still working for govt. service. She has applied for leave and NOC certificate from her office. They would be going to visa stamping in Hyd consulate.

 

1. We are booking tickets including the return tickets and sending it along for visa interview. Is it a good idea ?

2. Mother has applied for 170 days leave. So she would be returning within six months. Is the duration ok ?

 

Is there anything that we need to be concerned about.

It's better to get the tickets once the visa is issued.

What's the guarantee that at POE they get I94 for 6 months??
