This is the tracker to just track processing times for H-1 B Extension application under NORMAL processing, that are applied recently at Vermont Service Center. Below are my details. Other applicable individuals are requested to add their details in the same format, that can be valuable for other in the same boat.

With my application date of Apr 1st, 2013 for H-1 Extention, the current status is still Initial Review. I would urge others who have applied to Vermont Service Center under NORMAL processing to update thier details in this tracker in below format. Thanks ! in advance

Received receipt of the application, but interestingly enough the USCIS online status does not seem to recognize the  receipt # .

So its beyond 3 months .. based on what I say from above posts.

I would say, Under review.  As i said, the receipt # is not recognized in the uscis online case status.   I cannot contact USCIS directly about this, as this is an employer petition.

 

05/20/13, is when USCIS got the application, and the receipt date is the same as well.  Thanks

I am not sure if attorney/employer can do anything related to the time that USCIS takes in deciding on H-1 B Extension/Approval. Alhtough, one can update to premium processing , but the extra cost is beared by the employee in most cases.

 

Urge everyone to keep posting the updates to the tracker.

Here is my extension details.

I aplplied for extension while I was in US. But had to return India on personal emergency and meanwhile my h1 visa has expired. My employer did not agree for premium processing. Thanks.

@vanc_boy :It appears that the processing timelines for an extension is 2 months. Did the attorney or employer contact USCIS, as your timeline is outside of the normal processing time. 

 

 

 

I would hit 2 months on 07/20, and i might do it. Hate to pay for premium processing...

 

 

No man. Its not 2 months anymore. My last extension 3 years back took 4 months.
