GC Holder - B2 Visa for Spouse options

Dear Experts,

I am a Permanent Resident. Our family is interested in a match back home. I am aware that that the dependent approval process(F2A) takes a while. Until that gets approved, would she be eligible to apply for b-2 visa and get it approved.

Any other suggestions would be greatly helpful.

How many years are remaining for you to get your Citizenship...you might want to try that route..that is faster.

also your spouse can either come on F1 or H1B.

A complex question. Can she come over in H1/ L1 status if her company allows? When do you become a Citizen? Can she try her luck and apply for the Tourist visa soon? Immigration reform may still come to your rescue though I have no idea as to what is being proposed.

Generally, applying for a visitor visa when one is married to a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident can present challenges to their ability to overcome the presumption of immigrant intent. It may be helpful to discuss with a qualified competent immigration attorney to discuss personal options.

Thanks all. I still have 4 more years for the US Citizenship. I don't think their company would sponsor H1/L1 visa. We may have try our luck next year for H1. F1 is out of scope.
