zee1
I am on H1-b and I also have an EAD but I haven't not used it yet. My wife is on h4. We got married after I got my EAD, so she doesnt have an EAD. Can I switch to EAD now and my wife can still be in the US on h4 ? My h1 is valid until sept 2014. Thanks for your advise. pontevecchio
I strongly urge you to discuss your specifics with a Lawyer. If you change jobs based on EAD the basis for her H4 status is gone. Link to comment
rambobu
yes. until your H1B is valid. Link to comment
JoeF
Her H4 is dependent on your H1. If you use the EAD, your H1 becomes invalid, and with that, her H4. Link to comment
zee1
Thanks for your replies, folks. Its been more than an year that my I-485 application has been pending. Do you think a safe bet is to switch jobs on h1. Will that effect my EAD/I-485 application in any way assuming my sponsoring employer doesn't pull the plug on my application. Link to comment
