When to initiate for GC 2013

Hi,

I am in some confusion and seeking help.

I am in 3rd year of my H1b, commencing in Feb 2014.

My new employer, whom I joined in March 2013 is planning to initiate GC processing for me.

Can anyone please help me to understand best time to initiate the same so as to minimize any complications in the process.

Appreciate any help on the same.

There is no "best" time as such. But your employer can start immediately as GC is a lengthy process.

Do not count on getting it since there are still many unemployed USCs and LPRs.

earlier the better in many aspects - time required for each step and priority dates are the prime reasons. Complications are inevitable part of any process and having a good attorney helps foresee and prepare for them.

After giving your situation a lot of thought this is my advise..the best time to ask your employer to initiate GC process would be TOMORROW!! :)
