Consultant999 Posted April 16, 2013 Report Share Posted April 16, 2013 Hi All. I have a Question . i am planning to travel to Canada by road for my H1 b stamping and then travel to India from canada. Do i need to surrender the i-94 card at US border before i enter canada ? Please advise what is the recommended way. And this is my first time stamping (f1 to h1) and i have two i-94 1) - f1 visa old i-94 and 2) new i-94 attached to my i797. do i need to surrender both of the i-94 Thanks & Regards Link to comment
designflaw Posted April 16, 2013 Report Share Posted April 16, 2013 When you are about to leave USA, there should be a CBP office on the US side. Just stop there and let them know you plan on going to Canada to apply for ur h1b and will be leaving for India as well. They would collect your I94 card. Link to comment
rangadu Posted April 17, 2013 Report Share Posted April 17, 2013 When I went to Canada through Detroit into Windsor, there was no US CBP agent on the way out. Canadian Border security agent collected my I-94. Link to comment
