Attorney_25 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 A person is not required to be in any status in the US for the filing of the labor certification and I-140. Therefore, if you are in F-1 status or are outside the US, the process still can be started. The labor certification and I-140 are for a future position, but the employer needs to be able to offer you that future position immediately, which may affect the appropriateness of filing now. venky144 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Share Posted February 8, 2013 yes u can do...gc process requires many stages... first labor needs to be cleared and then I140 needs to be applied....then once u get priority date, u can apply for I485 which is GC.... so better u start ur gc process asap Link to comment
