Have an H1 - Valid till Jan 2014

Have an EAD - valid till Jan 2015

485 appllied - pending decision for over 180 days.

Situation :

Current H1 title : Computer system analyst

GC job title: Computer system analyst

Got new tile in company in 2012 which maps to IT manager ( different proile). ( more supervisory and finance related responsibilities based on experience)

Have been advise to do H1 amendment and re-file new GC papers with new job responsibilties.

I do not want to refile for new GC.

What are my options?

1. Would moving back to a Lead Systems Analyst/business analyst role with job requirements similar to Computer Systems Analyst require a H1 amendment and a new GC application?

2. Can I change my employer and move to a system analyst role with the new employer?

I prefer to tranfer H1/maintain H1 status instead of work on EAD.

3. What are the risks I should be aware of?

eg, If I don't change my title my EVL will carry the new title of a manager.

Please share your thoughts.

Your H1 and your green card are now different matters. H1 you will take care of, one way or another. Green card is eligible for portability under AC21 to a similar job - within your company or to a different employer. Generally, if the move is within the same company, I would not recommend proactive notification, just wait and see if youy get an RFE. If you get one, you are AC21 eligible, and thus a similar position should be no issues.
