Visit Visa

My Parents previously had Visitor's visa (10 years multiple entry). When they visited us in 2010, we had applied for an extension and they over stayed while waiting for a decision from USCIS.

Unfortunately the extension application was rejected and they have left the country immediately then.

In 2011 when they came back to visit us again they were stopped at the Port of Entry and were told that their visa got cancelled as they had over stayed in their previous visit. But were admitted into US for a 6 months stay with a Visa Waiver (I-193 Visa Waiver at Port of Entry).

We are planning to apply for a new Visitor's visa now and am confused how to answer the below DS160 question. Any help would be appreciated.

Question :

Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?
