rajudhote
Hi everyone, I am planning to change job, but another employer is offering me only part time job. I will have to leave the current job as per the employment contract. I have completed 180 days of my ead. My question is "can I work only part time while on EAD ? Is it must to have full time job for EAD holders ?" Thanks is advance Link to comment
kalyan_ac
It is OK to work part time on EAD. But why would somebody want to leave a full time job for a part time job. Link to comment
comp
I checked with my lawyer. Her response was - The green card process must be for a full time position. Part time employment does not qualify. You may have a part-time H position, but not for green card purposes. My wife is the primary applicant on her GC, and wanted to to start part time if possible with EAD in hand, so that she can look after the kids. But based on our lawyers response, doesnt seem possible. What did your lawyer say? any update on your situation? Link to comment
pontevecchio
@comp...As long as your wife intends to take up the GC job on approval and the employer is onboard she can definitely take time off while awaiting the GC. On EAD burger flipping is also possible if one chooses. Talk to a better class of Lawyer if you are sure lost in translation does not apply. Link to comment
comp
Thanks Pontevecchio. I'll look into it. Link to comment
