Process after 221g

Hi All,

I am curious about the process that happens once someone is issued a 221g?

Does anyone know the process followed by the US consulate once a person is issued a 221g? E.g., which are the agencies where the case if referred for review etc? I am specifically interested in the process for cases with common Muslim names? I did a Google search on the topic and was unable to find any clear documentation.

I feel that you can't predict the outcomes of 221g. Most of the cases gets resolved within 2-3 months. I do not have any idea about Muslim names, but seems that there are extra checks happens with those common names.
