digitaleye
Folks, I'm in my 7th year of H1B, my extension was approved until 2014 earlier this year. On my GC side, I have my Labor, I140, and EAD approved while my 485 is pending (due to EB2 priority date retrogressing). I need to go to India in December and I need to get new H1B stamp. My thought was to visit Calgary for my stamping, but after reading some horror stories in this forum about administrative processing delays there, I'm having second thoughts. I don't have much time in India during my visit to go to the US consulate for my visa stamping, so I'd ideally like to get it done in Canada. What do you guys recommend? Should I take a chance at Calgary? Should I try a different consulate in Canada? Or should I just stick to a consulate in India? Appreciate your time and thoughts Link to comment
kishankarla
I do not have good thoughts about Calgary. You can try for Vancouver, if any case if you got stuck on Admin Review when you have all the documents are perfect, depends on the Q @ third party/DOS verification , cases will be clearing between 3-4 weeks duration maximum. Blueracer
I would say take advance parole with you before leaving USA as a backup. And yes, I have heard that processing time in Canada is lesser than India if 221g was to be issued. Link to comment
