Successful H1b Visa Stamping Montreal

Recommended Posts

Hello All ,

I had my visa interview the day after Labor Day.

This is my extension H1b and i still have my current H1b visa from old employer till end of 2012.

Currently i work full time and my manager asked me to finish the stamping off asap and gave me all the letters and paperwork.

Interview was at 8AM. Reached consulate at 7:30AM and went through the security check. ( 2 mins ).

Was asked to wait in a waiting room at the ground floor and then was asked to travel by Elevator.

Then the first screening take place to verify all documents - that took a bit of time for me but i was tensed..

Then they asked to go for FingerPrinting.. Then again asked to sit while the PIMS verification was taking place and FBI check. Then in 15 mins was escorted to another window in the rear where the interview took place.. VO was super nice and sweet..

Looks like they know the case completely before we even get there.

VO: Whats your job title?

I answered..

VO: Did you do your masters in USA and where ?

I answered...

Checked my I-797 , Canda Visit Visa .

I provided the Manager Letter before she even asked. She glanced through.

She said your visa is approved and can collect your passport at the LOOMIS office.

This process took 3 minutes but the whole process was about 45 mins ...

Now waiting for my passport.. :)

Thanks for Reading..

Congratulations on your successful stamping.

I have a question - does US consulate have available parking space? or any nearer location to park and go for the interview?

Thanks

Hi,

Can I submit DS-160 1 day before of appointment?

Any issues...

I am not really sure about it.. why dont you submit it faster because they have enough time to go through your DS 160...

If you wait till last day it gets obvious your concealing something or hiding.. And if they do not get a chance to go through your DS160 unnecessarily the process will be delayed and you have to wait for maybe little longer.. If there is nothing fishy on your profile i think submit it faster.. :) i am not an expert but just an advice.. you should consult Department of State and ask them..
