My company issues a 1099, so I pay my own taxes.

If we file for GC, will I have to submit evidence of quarterly payments? Or is it sufficient to show 2011 returns?

Hmm, what is your current status?

If you are on H1, you need to be an employee, i.e., you have to get W2s, and the company has to pay the usual employee taxes.

On H1, you can not be an independent contractor.

If you don't get paid a regular paycheck as employee, you would be illegal.
