First time H1 stamping in canada?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I came to US on H4 in June 2010, got my change of status approved to H1 in Feb 2011 and started working from then. I work in EC model. Now, I am planning a trip to India, and have to get my visa stamped.

This is my first H1, can I do visa stamping in Canada? Which location will be safer for my stamping, Canada or India? I have all the letters with me.

Thanks in advance.

If you have US degree, then you can go to Canada.

Thanks for reply.

@ rahul412, I don’t have US degree. But in my case, I had L1 visa stamped in India from my Indian company. Though I never travelled to US on L1 visa and when I resigned form same employer my L1 got cancelled. After that I had my H4 visa stamped in India, on which I came to US.

From what I heard, first time stamping should always be from home country. So in my case, this will be my 3rd stamping considering earlier two. Based on it can I have h1 stamping in Canada? Or first stamping H1B stamping should always be in home country?

I am reading lot of positive Canada experiences, so my major focus is on Canada.

Please let me know if you/anyone has any idea of whole situation.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, first time stamping should be from home country. But I don't know much about L1 and not sure about the H1 stamping after getting the L1 stamping. Wait for more replies or contact any good immigration attorney.
