Green Card Received

Hi All,

I am living in India for a little over a year now and I received my green card couple of days back.I dont have an Ap or anything. I have job offer in the US which will start on Oct 1st 2011.

.My lawyer is suggesting I return immediately

1. Can I return to the US immediately with a job offer which is set to begin on oct 1st?

2. I had family commitments i had to take care of and thats why I left the Us, but now i am done with it. So what kind of questions the immidgration officer can ask me?

If you have an Advance parole you can come back right away. Else i am afraid to say that your GC is abandoned.

I think you should get the GC couriered to you and travel to US with the new GC in hand.

Mostly there may not be any problem provided you don't delay your stay outside US since the 'Resident Since' date.
