OPT to H1-B!!!!

Hi all,

I am currently on OPT since Feb 2012. My employer is going to file my H1-B soon. What I want to know is if my OPT status changes immediately into something else after the H1-B application is submitted or does it change after the H1-B is approved to an H1-B visa?

If the H1-B application is not approved, what is my status here in the US since my OPT is till Feb 2013 and I also am eligible for the STEM extension.

The H1 can only start on Oct. 1. Until then, you will be in your current status (F1, the OPT is part of the F1.)
