rambobu
Anything anybody? Attorney, JoeF, Belle??? Link to comment
Belle
How are you even supposed to know that kind of stuff? I mean, this is internal USCIS process, and quite honestly, none of our business. If they made an error, they will have to fix it. Your business is to wait for approvals. Link to comment
JoeF
There should be separate A#s, since each application stands on its own. Having said that, the A numbers on immigrant petition receipts are often just placeholders, at least that seems to be the case for I-140s. Are your parents in the US and have they filed I-485s? rambobu
They are in their home country. Belle, There is a A# on the receipt notice. Does this call for an infopass appointment or just wait? . Thanks gurus for your inputs. Link to comment
Belle
My advice - unless something is obviously wrong (like you get a DENIAL), don't be a busybody. Link to comment
JoeF
Wait for the I-130 approval notices. If the numbers are still the same there, then you may want to do something. Link to comment
BigJoe5
Does the notice look like the ones pictured here? http://northcentralcollege.edu/Documents/PDF/I-797Example.pdf or http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&authuser=0&biw=1280&bih=626&tbm=isch&tbnid=JKyV7ARLa_3f9M:&imgrefurl=http://www.randynsophanna.com/id1.html&docid=GE5wiuuMJjakfM&imgurl=http://randynsophanna.tripod.com/I-797NOA1I-130.jpeg.jpg&w=900&h=1167&ei=WqOtT9-YKILV0QHinLGXDA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=466&vpy=238&dur=3053&hovh=256&hovw=197&tx=94&ty=139&sig=110706825342056802693&page=2&tbnh=141&tbnw=104&start=23&ndsp=26&ved=1t:429,r:15,s:23,i:158 Where are you finding an A# on an I-130 receipt notice? There should be a receipt # (in the first image it is missing--redacted?) YOU as the PETITIONER are the correct person to be sent this notice and your alien relative (parent) is the beneficiary and as such has NO LEGAL STANDING to do anything about this except through YOU. In the future, your parent will file for an Immigrant Visas and will be the primary APPLICANT for that visa. Keep these roles in their proper conexts throughout the various stages of the process.
