SameerH1Bworker
Its safer side to join once you receive receipt, however, you can also join 1-2 days after H1B package is delivered to USCIS. Link to comment
wiweq
I always suggest to process the H1b transfer in PP, and join the new employer only ‘after approval’. This makes your life a lot easier. If employer doesn't pay for PP, you can pay it too. These days h1bs are getting weird RFEs, doesn’t matter its FT or consulting. Back to case, people join the employer even just after filing, as Sameer said. But, I don't know legality behind this. Link to comment
