6 year completion on H1

Hi,

Believe it or not, I am confused about the date till my H1 visa is valid!

The expiration dates on my H1 approval notice (I-797) & the visa stamp is in Feb 2013. However, I am completing 6 years on my H1, including recapture time, in Nov 2012.

Can someone tell me if I can legally work on my current H1 till Feb 2013?

Do not work past the 6 years.

Sometimes, they make mistakes, but eventually they will notice, and retroactively correct it. If you work past the 6 years, you'd find yourself being illegal all of a sudden.

Sometimes USCIS does make mistakes and it is the individual responsibility to make sure you stick to the rules (sounds crazy...but true).

I had the similar situation, where my H1 petition was approved beyond 6 yrs (including the recaptured days) and I filed for extension (with approved 140) before the expiry of actual 6 yrs.
