fulibua
Hello, I work as a direct employee in a big financial company. Due to recent internal re-organization my employer filed for H1B amendment through Consular processing which got approved last week. I am travelling to India next week and scheduling the appointment for March 3rd week at New Delhi consulate. My employer have not received the original I-797 yet from USCIS. My company attorney says I still can go for Visa stamping without original since my amendment filed through consular processing and since it's already approved Officer at consulate can verify in their system. my questions are: 1) Does it really needed to carry original I-797 form while going for visa stamping? 2) Do I need the original I-797 form at port of entry while coming back here? P.S. my 6th H1B year completed in 2011, based on my I-140 is approval (EB3) I got the extension last year for next 3 year. Really appreciate if you share your experience at the earliest Link to comment

Your help in this regard is highly appreciated as based on this I may have to postpone my travel plans. Thanks - Pavan Link to comment
