Hi

Can everyone post their Ottawa 221g cases here in one thread for us and everyone to follow it.

My case....

I went for interview on the 27th of Feb and was given a 221g 221g white slip requesting for more documents with the passport alone been returned. They retained all of my other docs. My client sent the docs the same day. They said they'll mail me once they receive the docs, but there is no updates from the consulate yet. Hopefully everything goes fine and the visa gets stamped.

Anybody who was/is in the same spot as we are?

If you had this in the past, how long did it take for the consulate to call you back and ask for the passport and 221g form? How long was the process after the second consulate visit?

If else, how long have you been waiting? what was asked in 221g? what are you planing to do - stay here or go back to your country?

Do you think going back to India and coming here with a new Canadian visa for the second US consulate visit is a good idea?

It all depends on your situation. For example, if you are waiting for 221g verification process and it has taken more than 7 days, you can think of going to india and then come back to Canada, to collect your PP and fly to US.

Ask yourself: You want to keep paying up in motels ? Crappy food ? Loneliness ? Or India on the other side, family - quality time etc: i agree it may cost you more than you initially may have thought but it should be better than a motel in canada that you are also eventually paying up for.

It's a hard decision, not an easy one. Good Luck

Hey man ... I also got 221g today at Ottawa for H1B first time through direct full time employer,but got the Blue one. My interview was in the morning. Do you have any clue regarding this 221G color? Now i am stuck in Canada.. what are your plans? Are you gonna stay here till you get an email from USCIS ? Did they tell you the reason of 221g? They didnt ask me for any other documents so have any clue what do they really want :(..

Hi Guys ,

I got 221-g today morning (Mar 5th 2012) at Ottawa, Canada; VO took all docs and gave back my passport with WHite Slip; I'm at Days Inn ; Let me know if anybody wants to meet up; ALso want to know if anybody got Visa approvals for 221g with White Slip;

Had an interview on Feb 27th.Got a 221G white slip for further review. No communication whatsoever until this point. Neither did my employer/client got an email nor I.

Hopefully all of us will get through this tough phase soon guys.
