Hyderabad or Chennai Consulate for Visa Stamping?

Hi guyz,

I will be visiting India in May-June. I am from Hyderabad and was on F1 before. I got employed and now on H1B and I am a full-time employee.

I'm confused whether to go to Hyderbad or Chennai for stamping. Your suggestions are appreciated.

As an full time employee you have a better chances with both the consulates, but still I would suggest Chennai, HYD is appearing very tough for same, so no to HYD , good luck

Hi guys,

I just found out from VFS that if it is first time stamping you need to go to consulate under the jurdisction you belong to, in my case its hyderabad so I have no chance to go to Chennai.

it doesn't matter..u can go to chennai or any consulate in india.u can always say u didn't get the date for hyd.

Hi All,

I have been to Stamping(H1) in chennai visa center on 1st march 2012 with my husband(H4)..

They hv asked few questions like.. where u r going? who is ur empl? salary? where u wil stay? which proj u r working for? etc.. interview went well.. they asked few questions like where is ur spouse born? in lws detail? birthday of sopuse etc for my husband..

later he gave green form asking to submit ticked doc via courier.. doc asked were wage reports of employer, itenrery of service, job notice, project manual.. etc.. i had all doc there in hand..

i hv submitted them with my passport..

in hurry i didnt make a note of batch id which was on green form.. i hope it is 221g.. i didnt even see what is that form is...

How do i track the status of visa now?

my passport status says- passport is with US embassy in process..

some 1 help me if u knw any details..

I got my visa stamped..

1st time H1b -> 221g green-

Interview date - 1st march

Stamped passport received on 24rd april

My Suggestion would be Chennai..and again its upto you...no consulate can guarantee's you a VISA...if you have all documents in place you should have any issues...
