BGFlash
Hi, I am currently employed in a firm on a work visa,H1B. My uncle (dad's brother) owns and runs a company and would like to employ me as a consultant. I was wondering if this is possible, I mean in the event that I do pursue this route, I will end up leaving my current job and have his company sponsor my work Visa. He also happens to be a citizen. Also he has the same last name as I do, does that entail more scrutiny from USCIS? Thanks. Link to comment
JoeF
It will certainly result in additional scrutiny from CIS. There are also special regulations for getting a GC when a relative owns 5% or more of the company. An additional affidavit of support from the relative is required then. Link to comment
