Attorney_10
Generally, time spent outside the U.S. or in the U.S. in a different nonimmigrant status does not count against one's 6 years of H1B time. In order to change from F1 to H1B status, an employer must file an I-129 petition on behalf of the individual with a request to change status. Please schedule a consultation with a qualified immigration attorney to discuss the specific facts of your case and the different options available to you. Link to comment
