H1b filing extension which is expiring on May-2012

Hi, I came to US on Jan-2012 on a new H1B and the current visa and petitionis expiring on May-2012. I will be submitting the docs in March-2012. I am working in a indian big company. I am in the same project for long time. I was in US for 5 yrs on L1 and left in 2010 to India and again came back on H1 this time on Jan-2012.

What are the chances my H1 extension will be approved and how long it will take..??...How smooth is current H1 extension process..???

Chances nobody knows, as long as you have all the required documents you should be good.

Regular processing takes anywhere between 4-6months based on processing center.

I think it costs around 5k now.

Your chances should be pretty good. Like the previous poster said, as long as you submit the required documents, you should be good. Make sure a lawyer is helping you. It might be worth paying extra for premium processing, too. Good luck!
