Spouse on J1 visa, priority date is current, need advice.

Currently I am on H1B visa and my wife is on J1 visa since 1 yr.

My employer has applied for my green card and the priority date is current.

I have a question that if I apply for I-485 for myself, would that have any implication for my wife's J1 visa extension & stamping.

My wife was on H4 visa and we converted to J1 visa as the program only sponsers J1 visa.

For the J1 visa, they have a question if you or your spouse has applied for permenant residency.

Last year, the answer was no as I had not applied for my I-485 and there was no issue with J1 visa stamping.

For this year J1 visa, the answer would be yes, if I apply for I-485.

So as the J1 visa was already issued for the 1st year and would the above question has any implication for the J1 visa for 2nd & 3rd Year.

Any advice would help.
