Leaving Employer after GC

I got my physical GC in May 2011. My GC was filed by my employer XYZ Inc. They got me here in US filing my H1B, I am with them since May 2004 till date, almost 7 years.

Is there any obligations that after GC I need to work with them at least 6 months. Few of my friend were saying that, after GC, it is better to work with employer for at least 6 months, else during Citizenship they ask questions on why did I leave before 6 months, and this may create problems.

I am not sure if thats just some belief or is it adviced that I should stay with my employer for atleast 6 months.

I am planning to incorporate myself and work with my incorporation, or second option is work independent on 1099. Do advice is it ok to leave employer in just 3 months after GC or should stay for 6 months and then think of separating (Note my total association with my employer is from May 2004 till date and my GC is approved in mid May 2011).
