lingoman
I have a green card since many years but now prefer to live in India but have children and grand children who live in the U. S. Keeping the GC valid requires me to visit the U.S. frequently, making it both expensive and difficult to do since I am 67 years old. I am ready to surrender my GC but would like to have the option to visit my children and grandchildren without having to go through the immense difficulty (in India) of obtaining a visitor's visa every time. Would the VO consider a request where I surrender my GC and they grant me a 5 or 10 year validity visitor visa? Link to comment
pontevecchio
Keeping the Gc valid is a misnomer. Having said that talk to the firm of Murthy in Chennai so that you can proceed along the right lines. It is absolutely possible if you follow lawyer guidance and avoid touts and agents. JoeF
Once you surrender the GC, you can applt for a visitor visa just like everybody else. It should not be all that hard, since by surrendering the GC you indicate that you don't have immigration intent anymore. Link to comment
