Part time for previous employer while on full time H1B for different employer

I recently changed my job and I am working for my new employer on H1B, My previous employer (whom I use to for on H1B) requested me to work on week ends (say 10 hrs) for some time.

Can I do a part time job for my previous employer (my old H1B is up to 2012 sep) . I was wondering weather i can do two jobs or it is illegal to work part time for another employer other than who sponsored the H1B. Your suggestion will be great full.
