Hi Sir,

I am working for a company on my STEM OPT(17 month period). As there are no projects at the current company I am put on an unpaid vacation. I want to know whether it is legal to work for another company as an independent contractor (the contract is for 6 months). This is more of a part-time work for few hours a week. Please let me know how I should proceed in this case. Thanks for your help !
