B1 to H1

This is Venkat, I came here on B1 VISA on 02Aug-2011 and I94 is valid till 2 Feb 2012.

I applied for H1b through one of the consultancies but unfortunately i got queries because of Client Letter.

Is it valid to stay in USA after 2nd Feb 2011 or Do i have to go to India to re-enter into USA.

You should leave before the I94 expires and if the H1 is eventually approved you should come back wth the H1 visa.

usually , I-94 will be given for 6 months for B1 entry . I know some people extended it for more than 6 months by upgrading the I-94 but since your H1 is in process , there are chances that you may expect queries , if you stay more than 6 months .

hi guys, i came to the US on a B2 visa. I found a employer here who filed for my H1. i recd a RFE last month. The problem that i had was that my I-94 was expiring on Nov 7th. I asked my lawyer and he told me to file an extension which i did. Just last week i got a approval of extension. My I-94 is now valid till May 6th. BUT my H1b is still in process....
