H1 2012 question

Hi

My wife is on H4 dependent visa and is trying to get a job on H1. We are planning to get her visa filed in April 2012 and want to know whether she would be able to join her new job in Sept 2012 or she can join the job in April itself.

Please let us know your opinion.

If one is cap subject and filing for a change of status to H1B under the annual quota in April 2012, the earliest one can begin employment is on October 1, 2012.
