L2 to H1B - Year Computation

Hi,

I came to US in July 2007 on L-2 visa. I got L2 EAD work permit and started working from December 2007. In December 2009, my company sponsored H1 for me. My H1 is valid until December 2012. My company will go for H1 visa extension in December 2012.

I would like to know what is the maximum duration to which my H1 can be extended? Do they consider time spent in L2 for the '6 year computation'?

Time in L2 status does not count towards the 6 years on H1.
