Procedure for spouse of a green card holder who is on F1 visa to get one

I am currently on F1 visa (valid until 2015) My husband got his greencard a week before we got married. Can he file a green card application for me now? What is the expected time before I get one? Also, will it affect my current F1 status ? Can I travel out of the country during that time?

your spouse can file I-130 to petition your GC, current wait time for spouse of GC holder is 2-3 years, you will need to maintain your own NIV status (ie F1) until your PD becomes current.

But, you now have immigrant intent which is not permitted on F1. Travel outside the US is risky.
