L1A to Green Card

My Case : I have an L1A visa. My L1B visa was upgraded to L1A in 2012. My 7 years in US will be completed in May 2012. (little over 7 months from now). I am working as a Manager in an IT consultant company which is based in the US.

Questions :

1. Do I have enough time to start processing my Green Card under EB1 Category? Does it matter from which country I am from to determine that processing time?
   
2. Is it a must to work at my offshore office for 1 year with the Manager/executive capacity before I came to US, in order to be eligible for EB1 category? I have seen that the same condition for L1A eligibility as well, but with few L1A examples I have seen, I do not feel it is a hard and fast rule.
   
3. Do I have runway to go through EB2 category? (remember, I have only 7 months to go before my 7 year in US is completed).
