Does one need to inform sponsoring employer receipt of EAD and/or Green card?

Hi,

I wanted to find out if it was mandatory to inform employer of receipt of EAD and/or Green card. I received my EAD and AP approval notices and wanted to know if it was mandatory for my to inform my HR dept about the same.

please consult a lawyer.

once you got your GC, you might want to inform HR to update your I-9 form. it is less important with EAD as you are still working under H1 with your employer.
