Successful Visa Stamping - Ottawa

Guys,

My Interview was on 27th Sep. It was a pretty short inverview for me. Asked a couple of questions.

-What do you work as, whom do you work for and how long have you been with that company?

-Do you work at the client side and how long have you been working for that client? (Mine is EC model)

Take every document that you can think of because I have seen other VO in another window who was asking many questions and documents. But don't worry most of the people got visas.

Most important thing is take a recent photograph with you (less than six months old) especially if the photograph which is in your DS-160 confirmation page matches with any of the photos in your passport. They sent many people back to a photo studio to bring new photograph. This will delay the process atleast 1 hr. Don't fall into this hassle.

Any questions are welcome!

Congrats and Thanks wenger.swiss.

Can you please share a few details about your case like:

1. Is this your first time stamping or h1 extension stamping?

2. When are you expecting to receive your passport?

3. How long have you been working with your company and client. This is just for me to relate my case with yours..

4. Did the VO ask anything about Employee-Employer relationship??

Your response would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

@ mb7, mine is extension and I am still waiting on my passport pickup status

@ raseshshah, it took two weeks for me to get canadian visa via mail.

Hi wenger.swiss,

I am confused with your 2 statements where you said you're waiting for your passport pickup status and also it took 2 weeks for your canadian visa via mail.

Were you in canada for those 2 weeks? Can you enter US without a passport and just your driver's license?

Please clarify.

thanks!

sreddy123, the quickest way to get canada visit visa is to apply in person at canadian embassy. If you send it through mail, it will take about 2 weeks.

dzboy, those two answers are independent , please look at their corresponding questions in above posts. I got my passport back in 2days while I was in Canada. It took two weeks for canada visit visa. Do not confuse between both. Also you cannot enter US without a passport and valid visa.

wenger.swiss My appointment is Ottawa consulate is scheduled on 11/1. I do not have Canada visa yet. I have all the documents ready to send out the application but confused on what to do. Do you recommend applying by mail or going in-person for Canada visa?

it's up to you, but I would recomment one to go in-person. I got in-person next day, from NYC last month.

@itsmeraj001 I booked my flight before I went for visior visa. So, I submitted the travel itenary. But reading other posts I understand you don't need to submit any travel documents. As for the purpose I selected other and mentioned H1B stamping and tourism. Gave the consulate name and address in the field for name and institution you'll visit.

There was no interview at the embassy. A guy took the documents, gave a receipt and asked me to come at 3pm. I went at 3 and got the passport with canadian visitor visa in it.
